CAIS / UNE GRANDE FETE
CAIS, the brainstorm of its President, was created
from a childhood dream. A dream of fun
|
 |
filled days of growing up in Montreal with streets filled with excitement. Streets alive with children's laughter, and faces in awe from
entertainers clad in different ethnic costumes, from Clowns walking on stilts, with tall
pinstripe hats, bending down to shake a child's hand, and Jugglers in loud colors entertaining
guests with an array of talent. And of course Panteminists and Poets are also part of this
venue, why, because we're talking about a Multi-Cultural Street Festival.
A kind of Festival that has a Joie de Vivre, a Je Ne Sais Quoi. A place where there are no
boundaries. Everyone gets along because of mutual respect for everyone's uniqueness and
cultural diversities. No pressure just be yourself and watch out for your neighbor. A kind of
camaraderie, if you will. Fun for all.
And of course this dream would not be complete without Would Be Street Musicians that
sound like Gordon Lightfoot or the father of soul B.B.King, who are happy to play just for the
enjoyment of it all. That is part of what CAIS's multicultural festival is all about.

And if you would like to join in the fun, eat, dance and celebrate, or if you would like to join
our society and need more information on our Programs and Services, or would like to attend
our Anual General Meeting, email me at CAISCounseling@hotmail.com. We appreciate and
welcome community input, after all that's what a Festival is all about. A Festival just isn't a
Festival unless it's done on a grand scale, for the people, by the people. All donations will also
be appreciated.
|
We are also actively recruiting Volunteers, Musicians and new Members for our next year's
festival August/September 2003. Email me for locations, see you there!
